Madcap Christmas Magic II
Posted by Robin Easton under: Hobnobbin' with Robin .

Hello my dear friends! The video below is Phase Two of the “Madcap Christmas Magic“ series. I hope you enjoy another wacky story from my childhood. This second video starts with the same song as the first video, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas“, but it ends with another song, which I’ve never played before, although it will be very familiar to most of you. Again I’m playing it from a long ago child’s memory. But I can still hear the sweetness of it in my mind. It remains my favorite Christmas song.
This is my last “Madcap Christmas” Video…until next year, so I wish you a warm, safe and joyous holiday season, one filled with unforgettable moments. Tomorrow my sweetheart and I are off for a day hike through the fresh snow and desert air. Before I go I want to thank EACH of you for your encouragement and kindness. I have been truly blessed to connect with such loving souls; you have earnestly left your shining magic and wisdom on these pages. For that that I am grateful and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love,
Robin
PS In the photo above I was only 2 – 3 years old. The picture was taken in Maine, USA where we used to get two to three feet of snow in a storm. I am the little one at the back, trying to catch up with my sister and brother.

We were both blessed. We lived a simple life in the bush and we learned so much about love, nature and simple conscious living. Although many parts of my childhood are not segments I would like to repeat, in that simple life I do find wonderful memories. You have brought them to mind through your videos. For this I thank you. The gift of your “self” I accept with honor. All my relations.

I have so enjoyed your blog this year and also the wonderful comments you leave on mine which always make me feel so uplifted

Dearest Robin,
We don’t have such thing as 12 days of Christmas over here. It’s funny how people create their own celebrations, their own memories. Just beautiful.
It’s always a joy to visit you.
I wish for you and your dear ones, only blessings and happiness.
Have a great holiday season, and remember that on this side of the world you’ve got a friend who truly loves you.
Besos,
Mel

Kia ora Robin,
Merry Christmas to you my wonderful friend! I hope you had a wonderful time in Nature, and enjoy a beautiful walk today. It is Boxing Day here in Aotearoa, and I am off to the country with the boys for a family picnic and a swim. I wish you a lovely day! Getting ready for my annual summer tramp in the Ruahines, 6 days of blissful interaction with the mountains. You shall be in my thoughts. Rangimarie.
Aroha,
Robb

So you were up there running around in the snow while I was just south in central Massachusetts running around in the snow. Or skating on an ice pond after shoveling it off. Or feeling the joy of standing around a campfire in the snow. Or whizzing down a hill on a sled. So many wonderful things to do in the Northeast on a snowy winter day when you are a child.
Have a wonderful holiday Robin.

What fun! You’ve brought to mind the warmth and joy of my own childhood Christmases, long past, and your infectious laughter was just the gift to brighten this Christmas of the here and now! Many best wishes to you, Robin! May you receive 10-fold all the blessings you so graciously offer to us! ~ Julie

Winter videos bring back memories. Curiously enough, not everyone actually owns a video camera or even has home movies to reflect back on. In that sense, you invite readers of your blog to live vicariously through some of your memorable experiences. You are like a ghost who visits us as part of the Christmas carol story, taking us on a journey back to parts of our childhoods we had temporarily forgotten. Thank you dear Robin for your humor, your love and your ways of encouraging people to learn to live, laugh and love, again, as if for the first time.

You are lovely and warmingly crazy ~ Tamera is right!
Liz and I had a really wonderful Christmas Day, so much and so wonderful that I will remember it for ever. I relate to 5 golden rings and your Dad…..when I’m performing in Joseph – in Caanan Days, is sing “we’ve gone to the other extreme and I love it so much, the musical director gets fed-up waiting for me to stop drawing out “gone to the other extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeem!”…..it’s all about enjoying it and being in love with…not only life….but the most important ingredient of life…Happiness.
Long may you spread it, my crazy friend

Hi Robin,
That was so wonderfully fun to watch and listen to! You really make the memories of your Christmas childhood come to life – in very magical ways. Robin, your love for life, your zest for living are truly amazing gifts that you share. Thank you for sharing and spreading this joy. And what a great 12 days of Christmas childhood!
Your ending song, Silent Night, was beautiful – and not what I was expecting at all. Wonderful, in so many ways, Robin, my dear friend…

Hello Robin, a belated Christmas greeting to you and my warmest wishes to you for a wonderful 2009. Oh yes, your upbringing sounds similar to mine – I have one of those fathers too – spontaneous and fun. Lovely memories and I am so glad that I found your blog this year as well. Beautiful lady and beautiful spirit with an even more beautiful and profound message about life. Love Lilly

Hi Robin. I didn’t have a chance to comment on Part I so I will do so here…both videos were so great! Your first video had me laughing so hard, partly because of your joy in telling the story. It’s so nice that your father made those traditions for you and you’ve told them to all of us…they’re so uplifting. And your piano playing is beautiful! How talented you are!
Thank you so much for your wonderful writing, Robin. I really enjoy stopping by for some peace and inspiration—you’ve been a true “blog friend.” You have a happy New Year and hike a few steps for me in your beautiful desert! I’ll comment with ya next year! !hugs to you!
