The Whispering Winds Of Energy

Posted by Robin Easton under: Hobnobbin' with Robin .

Today I introduce my first guest writer, Steven Aitchison of Change Your Thoughts. Steven is not only a remarkable writer and deep thinker, he is also an exceedingly kind man.  There is a lot that I could say about Steven, but I found this post so honest, moving and insightful that I feel it’s better to let Steven’s voice touch you in its own beautiful and personal way. Steven will be responding to comments and I will also pop in to read the wisdom you share.  Enjoy! Love, Robin

The Whispering Winds Of EnergyThe Spiritual Force Within You

The way you feel this very second has an impact on the rest of the world.  Albeit a tiny impact, but an impact nonetheless.

I have asked questions about the world since I learned to speak and I have never really been given satisfactory answers.

Our lives and our beliefs are based on theories. You see, religion is based on theories, just like a lot of our life is based on theory.  Scientists know what type of food is good for us then a few years later the same food is apparently bad for us.  Psychologists know about the human mind but there is no one cure for depression.  The very fact that we can stand on the earth whilst it is spinning was based on theory.

Why not base your own world on your own theories.  Your world is different from my world so why not have your own theories, after all who knows your world better than you?

I have my own theory about the spiritual force and how it helps us in life.

The spiritual force

I may offend a lot of people here when I say I do not believe in God. I haven’t done since the age of about 11, much to the horror of my family.  When I have discussions about religion a few people ask if I am spiritual at all.  I always reply I am deeply spiritual but not religious in any way.

Being spiritual, to me, is about connecting with another person on a physical, psychological or intellectual level. We’ve all met someone who we’ve been instantly attracted to, not necessarily a physical attraction but an invisible attraction of some kind.  How is this attraction explained?

I believe it’s in the very air that we breath.  We all have an energy field surrounding us, which is either outward looking or inward looking.

When we are depressed our energy field is very low and inward looking, so the expansion of the field is limited to ourselves.  When we are feeling positive, confident, comfortable with ourselves and have the need to help others in an altruistic way, our energy fields expand away from ourselves and can touch the rest of the world.

Have you ever known someone who attracts lots of attention for no apparent reason? I can almost guarantee that person is positive, happy, very confident and willing to help others.  Now take someone with all the same attributes but replace happy with depressed.  Again I can almost guarantee the same person will not attract nearly as much attention when they are depressed.

This is what I call the spiritual force within us. Our spiritual force has the power to touch many people and taking care of the force will determine how we get on in life. Robin, the author of this blog, is a person whose spiritual force has attracted a lot of attention and admiration from a lot of people around the net. Ask yourself why that is.

Why children exude spiritual energy

Children, have not been taught the rigid rules of being human and they are a great example of the spiritual force.  Children speak the truth without fear of retribution, they play without fear of looking foolish, they dance without caring whether they can do it or not, they laugh often, they do what their heart tells them to do and their spiritual force is ever expansive.

It’s been said many times, but we can learn a lot about life by observing our children, especially when it comes to being free.  Yes I know that when we grow up we have responsibilities, a house to pay for etc but that doesn’t mean our spiritual force should diminish.

Your spiritual energy when you die

I believe our energy stays here when we die and it goes into the melting pot of energy.  This melting pot can be tapped into by any living person in order to find answers to our own lives and to find answers to the worlds problems.

I also believe that this is how the law of attraction works.  You put a thought out there, that thought mixes with the energy of others, past and present, and you will get answers back by way of coincidences.  The more you work toward your goals and the more thoughts you have about your goals in life the more coincidences will occur in your life as you are literally giving your thoughts energy.  That energy is mixing with the energy of others.

If you believe the law of attraction is about sitting in a chair, imagining yourself winning the lottery,  guess what’s going to happen – absolutely nothing.  You have to take action toward your goals in life, the more action you take, the more thoughts you are creating, the more thoughts, the more energy you are creating, the more energy, the more attraction you create toward yourself and others.

Taking care of your spiritual force

Do everything with a good heart and expect nothing in return, it really is that simple.

This is really beautiful, and interesting. As a normally happy and confident person who fights against depressions sometimes, I can vouch for the validity of your claim that such people attract less attention when they are depressed. When I am feeling well, I am positive, caring, and very helpful. In those times, I find it easy to interact with people and attract attention. But when I am depressed, I shrink into myself, and it can be very hard to attract any kind of attention or even interact with people at all.

I’ve also found that the easiest way to shake off a depressive episode is by interacting with others as positively as I can, as soon as I can. By reaching out, I find that I can counteract the effects of depression much more easily than if I remain closed off.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s wonderful.

Hey Steve, I feel that this post gave us all a lot of insight into your theory. Personally, the better I know you, the more I appreciate your many fine qualities. I generally don’t get into “spiritual” discussions because there is such a vast array of definitions and feelings involved. Much of the time I think it’s like comparing apples and oranges.

As I read your article my first thought was that I personally would have used a different word label for the same energy. That said, you should also know that, regardless of the label used, I agree with every point you made.

I looked up “spiritual” in the dictionary, and what do you know, one of the definitions fit your “theory” to a tee. Here’s what it said: “Spiritual – temperamentally or intellectually akin; connected by affinity of the mind, spirit, or temperament.”

I really appreciate you energy Steve. This was a well written and thought provoking article. Thanks you for you insights.

“Do everything with a good heart and expect nothing in return, it really is that simple.” Beautifully said Steven. It’s the act of giving and not expecting anything in return that makes life simple and meaningful, to us and people around us.

Oh Steve, I love this.
I too have a Degree in Psychology and guess what, it has only thrown up more questions than answers and also a lot of doubt about science inability to acknowledge that it doesn’t know what it cannot know. It often challenged my common sense with their manufactured theories.
I adore looking at life from a practical honest way, with innocent perception as children still posess. I am totally with you there.
As an adult we want every experience to fit in a box of prior knowledge and we dare not to go where we have not been with our feelings, experiences and issues.
Young kids do that all the time when they are exploring the world they have entered, we can see how much fun they are having.
You are right, I too want that way of looking at life back, I too want to lose the restrictions of my mind that I have allowed to become so dominating when becoming an adult.

So thanks for validating a life style that is going for more authentic connecting and harvesting the love that is left by others for us to harvest.

Hello Robin and thank you for having Steven.

Steven – this was so beautiful and so fitting on this blog.

You definitely peaked my interest when you said “you do not believe in God” – and yet I totally understand and in many ways agree. God to me is the ALL – it is the energy and it is the wind. It is definitely not a “man in the sky.”

This was very inspirational and thought-provoking, and so thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience, and wisdom!

Thank you Stephen for this article you genuinely shared on Robin’s Blog.

I read and follow each of your word very carefully. Totally agree with you with the ‘Law of Attraction.’ There is a positive aura about certain individuals and these people will draw many people toward them. Robin attracts people, because she has positive attitude toward life and those around her. She can laugh freely and be like a child at heart. That will make her always happy and positive. She is also very spiritual as well. Her positive energy is bursting out of her articles. No matter what happens, she is able to laugh.
Having difficult time will not necessarily bring her down, sure, it will disturb her plans but she will find ways of explanation right on and move on with life.

I have to say that being positive it helps. It makes life easier for anyone. I know from my own experience that I too attract people in my entire life. People always enjoy company of a person who is happy… Positive energy one can detect easily by looking at the particular individual eyes. I am in total agreement with you about the Law of Attraction. Always give with no expectation for any reward; it is the best way to live.

Thank you so much, it was a pleasure to read your great contribution to Robin’s page.

Warm regards,
Zuzanna

@Nik Karlil, thanks for commenting Nik, I agree with you, that one statement could be a lifes teaching.

@Wilma, the degree in psychology certainly did throw up more questions than answers and taught me that life really is a theory, there are a few things we know for sure but the rest – well it’s really up to us.

@Evita, thank you for your comments I really appreciate it. God is many things to many people, it’s all semantics at the end of the day, but I am glad you could read this with an open mind. Thanks again.

I enjoy reading about other peoples spirituality, so often it has evolved from life experiences as has mine. I cannot say I do not believe in God as you have but neither can I follow a religion as such….I think I have said this before but my Mum was once asked if her children were religious, she answered “I don’t know but I would sooner they be kind” Your theory on energy after we die provokes some interesting thought and I can relate to that in many ways.
As for this question, it made me smile
“Robin, the author of this blog, is a person whose spiritual force has attracted a lot of attention and admiration from a lot of people around the net. Ask yourself why that is”
She has the ability to lift people and make people feel special which is very unique. She practices that wonderful art of treating everyone with respect and kindness…..the fact that she is so damned nice even in the face of adversity gets my admiration ;-)

Yes, Spirituality….the study of experiencing spirit. Spirit flows as energy and beyond energy. Therefore, feel new energy. Feel as if one were a child. Everything is always changing and therefore everything is always new. We just have to be aware of it. We can experience new spirit by invoking or channeling new spirits into our life through intention. Allow the world to enter us and one feels spirited. Spirituality brings life to death. Many people are spiritual and they don’t even know it or don’t have the vocabulary to express it. And you know what…thats perfect. We really don’t have to label or discuss anything. We just have to feel what Is….in this One Moment.

Hi Steven and Robin,

Thank you, Steven, for sharing your thoughts so beautifully with all of us. Like you, I am a spiritual person. I do believe in God but as you wrote in a reply to a comment, it truly is a matter of semantics. Actually, the root word for religion comes from the latin word to bind. While the root word for spiritual comes from the Latin work to breathe or give life to or inspire. I think that kind of describes the experience of religion and spirituality.

And what you wrote about the Law of Attraction is so true. Visualization and desire are important tools but action (in the manner that you described) is a big component too which people tend to forget.

Robin, thank you for introducing Steven to all of us. Thank you again for such a lovely comment that you left on my blog. I am so happy to have met you and that we are kindred spirits. :)

Robin, you certainly chose a lovely person as your first guest writer. I admire both you, and Steven, for your many wonderful ways.

I really enjoyed reading the article and comments that followed. Spirituality is not religion and holds a different meaning for each individual.

Happy, positive people exude such charisma, which attracts others to them. Their energy and light is always present, always visible.

Steven, I appreciate your perspective on the law of attraction. Our thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, connected with experiences, do create our reality. Like attracts Like. Our actions then energize those thoughts. An Attitude of Gratitude intensifies that force.

My thanks again, to you and Robin ღ♥ღ

Empty yourself of everything.
Let the mind rest at peace.
The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.
They grow and flourish and then return to the source.
Returning to the source is stillness, which is the way of nature.
The way of nature is unchanging.
Knowing constancy is insight.
Not knowing constancy leads to disaster.
Knowing constancy, the mind is open.
With an open mind, you will be openhearted.
Being openhearted, you will act royally.
Being royal, you will attain the divine.
Being divine, you will be at one with the Tao.
Being at one with the Tao is eternal.
And though the body dies, the Tao will never pass away.

Steven, it’s so nice to meet you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Actually living our spirituality is key, as you say, and children are adept teachers, allowing loving energy to flow through. We, too, can freely love life, without strings, without hindrance by redirecting our thoughts and applying emotion to them. I love your final statement about intention and expectation. One of the things we often forget is that we should apply the maxim inwardly, too. By offering ourselves the same loving grace we’d extend to others, we keep our spirituality safely energized.

I look forward to exploring your blog and reading more of your insights. Thank you for agreeing to be a guest in Robin’s “Eden.”

Wonderful thoughts, Steven. How true it is that we allow theories to rule our perception of things. Blake said: “I must invent my own system or be enslaved by another man’s.” But I’ve always wondered, contra to Blake, if having one’s own system isn’t also a form of slavery. As for spirituality, I feel physical life and spiritual life are one and the same. You can’t rub your nose or blink your eye without performing a spiritual act.

This was a great post and yes I believe in the law of attraction and the innocence of children and the glory of our own theory and yes my strength and courage will stay when I leave this earth and hopefully help the world I love so much. However my courage and my strength come from within my soul which will leave here and join my master and giver of unconditional love and understanding my God…my theory and I enjoyed yours…however the vacuum I felt within your writing is enormous and I pray you find God..the master who asks for nothing in return for his love for even the none believers..

@Dorothy – Thanks for your thoughts Dorothy. I hear what you are saying and respect your beliefs. I am my own master therefore I am God, so, as long as I believe in myself I believe in God (semantics) However, because I am God I would like to say:

I impose no rules, do whatever you like in this world as long as you realise there are consequences to every action.
You don’t have to believe in me to enter the world beyond.
You don’t have to pray to me because you are God also
You don’t have to assign ’someone special’ to pass on my words because I have yet to speak
You do not have to read a book of my teachings because I have yet to teach
When you ask forgiveness for your sins; Please! ask yourself for forgiveness
When you pray that I find God, I thank you for praying to me.

Dear Friends,

I have read all of your wonderful comments and Steven’s as well. All I can say is that there is something in EVERY comment that I relate to. As the comments kept coming in and with them your varied views of Life, God and Spirituality, a couple of things came to me.

One is, there really is something to be said for semantics and the words and expressions we each use to describe our beliefs, our feelings and experiences. I’ve notice that if we really slow down and express what we feel in more detail that we often have at our core the same or very similar beliefs.

Words are wonderful things, but in the same token they can sometimes limit our sharing experience, especially if we don’t keep an open mind and heart in terms of other people’s beliefs. But if we are patient, open and willing to listen, if we can “let in” other people’s beliefs we more often than not discover that “bottom line”, they are like us. We are often all talking about the same thing. We just have to watch that we don’t cling so tightly to our beliefs that we miss out on Love.

The second thing that struck me is that I have very few ridged beliefs. I can look at every comment here and see an aspect of myself, something I feel now or once felt or ponder, etc. I guess for me, when comments come in or I talk with someone throughout my days my focus is very little on beliefs and more on simply loving people, hearing people and experiencing who they are.

As long as I can love I am happy. And NO one can stop us from loving. Even if someone hates us, we can still choose to love, still choose to be in a place of love. So I am happy simply to love. I often don’t even care if I am seen, although I am soooo blessed to have so many people love and see me, feel me, experience me and respond with love.

I thank all of you for taking the time to share each your unique view. They are ALL precious, valid and beautiful….as are you.

From my heart.
Love,
Robin

I recommend having children. :) No one gives me odd looks or says anything when I play in the mud. They instead tell me I’m a good mommy. As a parent societal rules aren’t as strict as they are without children.

I can sing or dance any where or act like a child myself. If I did these things with out my kids someone would probably admit me to an asylum or something. Parenting gives a certain kind of freedom.

Religion, I don’t go for. I do read the Bible to my kids but I also read to them about Buddhism, Judaism, and any other thing I can find. I grew up Christian with people touting “one true religion” and I don’t believe that. What I believe is that we need to learn to accept others for their differences. I will never have my children tell someone they are wrong because their beliefs aren’t mine or theirs.
